As the deadliest natural disaster in US history strikes Galveston, Texas, taking between 6,000 and 12,000 lives, one world nears destruction as another emerges. Canadian experimental filmmaker (and BlueMagenta co-founder) Blake Williams’ debut feature immerses viewers in the storm’s aftermath as images of unknown origin are displayed on the screens of a mysterious televisual device. PROTOTYPE is a consideration of twentieth century technology, imaginary media, and the pleasures of the inexplicable.
